local favorite andrew laverty received his mfa in printmaking from umass dartmouth and his bachelor's in graphic design from bridgewater state. he works in relief print, silkscreen, collage and video. his work combines new and old processes and materials. dichotomies like old vs. new, chaos vs. order, and sacred vs. profane are a favorite motif, and echo his being simultaneously fascinated and horrified by media and popular culture. aesthetics and craftsmanship are of utmost importance.
